Job summary

Rate is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Information Technology team, working remotely across the US. You’ll build and maintain a high-throughput backend platform that ties together HR, identity, payroll, and business systems, delivering scalable, reliable services with a focus on data integrity.

Ideal candidates bring deep Node.js experience, strong AWS skills, and hands-on API expertise (GraphQL/REST).

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent degree or experience.
• 5+ years of professional programming experience.
• 3+ years with Node.js, GraphQL and REST APIs.
• 3+ years AWS services and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with ETL, data synchronization and idempotent integrations.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, well tested backend code in a Scrum team.
• Build reliable integrations between systems of record.
• Collaborate with product and other developers to maintain and modernize high-throughput software.
• Participate in code reviews and automated testing.
• Support production issues with logging, alerting, and diagnostics.
