Job summary

Visibility Corporation, a Beverly, MA based software company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance our Visibility ERP with modern web tech. You will design, code, test, and maintain enterprise applications while migrating UI from web forms to Blazor and .NET Web API.

You’ll also support billable consulting projects and contribute to product roadmaps. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of .NET experience, REST API skills, SQL Server proficiency, and a track record delivering quality software

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise-class software development with .NET.
• Experience with Git and with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• ERP/Financial/Manufacturing systems experience a plus.
• Understanding of full software development life cycle.
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in an agile environment is a plus.

Our core product, Visibility ERP, is a web-based enterprise resource planning software system designed to support the business needs of our manufacturing customers. Successful candidates will be smart, charismatic individuals with the ability to interact with our customers and Visibility team and have an impact on our product using the latest web technology.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the full software design life cycle and have experience working to understand both business and end-user needs to drive process efficiency and product quality. They should have experience designing, coding, testing and maintaining applications independently, be comfortable coding in a number of languages, and have an ability to test code to maintain high-quality standards. The Senior Software Engineer will be a key hands-on contributor to our new user interface design and migration away from web forms into an improved UI/UX experience with updated technology such as Blazor and .NET Web API, while also supporting billable customer consulting projects alongside our product development work.

Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test and maintain software applications across both product development and billable customer consulting engagements.
• Contribute directly to the planning and execution of new user interface design and migration away from web forms into an improved UI/UX experience with updated technology such as Blazor and .NET Web API.
• Work with customers and the internal .NET team to design and develop custom software solutions that meet customer requirements and timelines.
• Independently source and interpret project requirements, coding applications to specifications within scope and timeline.
• Serve as a technical resource to fellow .NET developers, helping solve technology issues on projects as needed.
• Adhere to and help refine coding standards, Q/A processes, and best practices.
• Develop automated tests and conduct performance tuning.
• Collaborate with the engineering team and product team to help establish best products.
• Stay ahead of current trends and contribute to defining the product roadmap.
• Participate in weekly planning and daily stand-up development team meetings.
• Be a team player: support colleagues and customers wherever needed, including presales efforts (offering product development/technical expertise), presenting at our annual customer conference, customer webinars, and similar activities.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years' experience with enterprise-class software development working with .NET.
• Experience working with Git.
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in building and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with business applications and application development; Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Financial Systems, Manufacturing Systems experience a plus.
• Thorough understanding of best practices and procedures for the full software design life cycle.
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Experience working in an agile development environment is not required, but is a plus.
