Job summary

IC Resources in Austin is seeking a senior mobile engineer to own end-to-end development of cross-platform apps for iOS and Android using React Native with Expo and TypeScript.

You'll ship features from idea to App Store/Play Store, shape mobile architecture, navigation, and state management, and collaborate with product and design as the team scales in a fast-paced startup environment. Based in the Austin office four days per week. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Our client is an Austin tech company whose platform is used by over a million people a year. Well backed, profitable, and the established leader in their category. Mobile is now the biggest engineering investment in the business, and they're hiring a senior engineer to own it.

The role

This is an ownership role, not a maintenance one. You'll build and ship cross-platform mobile apps for iOS and Android, taking features from idea through App Store and Play Store release. You'll work directly with product and design, prototype quickly, and help shape the mobile architecture, navigation, state management and engineering standards as the team scales. The stack is React Native with Expo and TypeScript.

What you'll bring

6+ years in mobile software development, with deep experience building React Native applications for iOS and Android. Strong TypeScript. Solid grasp of mobile architecture, navigation, animations and state management. Enough native experience to handle whatever the framework doesn't. Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL. A track record shipping consumer mobile apps in a fast paced startup or small team environment, with the data driven mindset to ship, measure and iterate.
