Senior Software Development Engineer - Security

Description

This highly collaborative role involves working with teams across the Security and Infrastructure organizations to integrate tools, collect data, and provide visibility into the security state throughout our deployment footprint. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, estimating, fixing, and deploying services and features, as well as supporting partner teams in understanding, integrating, and resolving issues.

Key tasks:

1. Design and develop backend services to collect and serve infrastructure and application metadata.
2. Provide visibility into deployment environments, dependencies, and source code metadata.
3. Integrate with CI/CD pipelines, source code management systems, and deployment platforms.
4. Ensure high reliability, scalability, performance, and security of backend services.
5. Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure accurate and timely metadata collection.
6. Contribute to documentation, testing, and observability of collected metadata.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years programming in Go
• Strong software engineering skills, including designing and delivering high-quality, performant software
• Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture and building internet-scale, distributed, critical services
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services
• Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and engineers, including writing requirements and technical guides
• Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams across different time zones

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation)
• Experience with OSS data processing tools (Kafka, Flink, etc.)
• Proficiency with Kubernetes

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple offers additional benefits including stock programs, medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, educational reimbursements, bonuses, and relocation assistance.
