Position: Senior FIPS 140 Security Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD or 100% Remote

You will have an exciting opportunity to work in the growing IT Security field supporting National defense. The products you will work on will be deployed into larger systems or used in deployments to facilitate secure communications for our military in the modern cyber warfare environment. Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of FIPS 140 requirements.
  • Understanding of cryptographic algorithms, key exchange, hashing, PKI, and random number generators.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java, and related development environments.
  • Ability to interpret security standards and apply them to products.
  • Familiarity with security protocols like SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.
  • Experience in building testing environments, conducting tests, and reporting results (including technical writing).
  • CVP Certified Tester.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VHDL and Verilog.
  • Debugging skills using GDB, WinDBG, Visual Studio, etc.
  • Statistical analysis of entropy sources.
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL and OpenPGP.
  • Experience with vulnerability analysis and penetration testing.
  • Strong knowledge of computer security principles.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux.
  • Experience with electronic testing tools (oscilloscope, function generator, etc.).
  • Understanding of X.509 certificates, protocols like CDP and OCSP.
  • Experience setting up networks, subnets, and routing.
Education & Experience:

BS degree and 4–8 years of relevant experience required.

Position Details:
  • Pay Range: $68.95 - $73.95 per hour

The salary range is indicative; final offers depend on responsibilities, experience, education, skills, location, travel, and market conditions.
