Job summary

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking a Senior Software Developer for Procure to Pay Products. You will design, test, integrate, and maintain backend services, collaborating with frontend teams and stakeholders to ensure robust ERP Source-to-Pay and Vendor Management solutions.

You will mentor junior developers, review code, and research emerging technologies. A background in higher education environments and strong cloud skills (AWS/Azure/GCP) are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in computer science, software development, or related field.
• Expertise with code libraries and open-source forums; languages include Node.js, Python, Java, .Net, JavaScript, PHP.
• Experience planning deployment and creating feedback mechanisms; strong test planning.
• Seven+ years in computer science or related field (preferred).
• Experience with Jaggaer, PaymentWorks, Oracle Financial Cloud or similar cloud solutions.
• Experience in complex higher education environments; serving academic and administrative functions.
• Advanced knowledge of secure software development and large-scale deployment.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Ability to build relationships with a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills; manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced problem-solving; identify root causes and scope solutions.
• Commitment to an inclusive workplace and belonging for all.
• Creativity and willingness to adopt new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain back-end services for complex product solutions.
• Lead software solutions by meeting functional and technical requirements; collaborate with customers and stakeholders.
• Develop clean code and perform regular code reviews.
• Evaluate system flow, data usage and processes; investigate problem areas.
• Manage work activities across the software development lifecycle and mentor junior developers.
• Research emerging technologies and propose best practices for adoption.
• Support ERP Source-to-Pay and Vendor Management platforms to improve operations.
