Job summary

Peraton in Herndon, VA is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and modernize cloud-enabled applications for the NAS under the BNATCS contract. This on-site role requires US citizenship, ability to obtain a Public Trust, and hands-on experience with Java, Python, C#, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years (or Master’s with 6+ years) in a related field; alternative combos per listing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or similar languages.
• Experience designing apps in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Support technical design activities and participate in architecture and design reviews.
• Develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications supporting FAA programs.
• Translate system and business requirements into well-structured, maintainable code.
• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and stakeholders to meet requirements.
• Develop unit, integration, and regression tests to validate functionality.
• Support integration of applications into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance, and integration issues.
• Contribute to documentation, including design artifacts and user guides.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, RMF and FedRAMP wherever applicable.
• Participate in V&V, readiness reviews, and modernization efforts.
• Identify opportunities to improve development processes and automation.
