Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Principal Software Engineer/Developer to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve customer-facing software solutions using Angular, React, Node.js, and HTML. You will build and support web applications, work with Java/J2EE stacks, and manage AWS cloud deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Information Systems, Finance, or closely related field with 5 years of experience as Principal Software Engineer/Developer in a customer-facing web app environment.
• Or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience as Principal Software Engineer/Developer in a customer-facing web app environment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in architecture design teams and defines application-level architecture.
• Develops applications on complex projects and subsystems for the division.
• Recommends testing tools and methodologies and validates test plans.
• QA readiness of software deliverables and develops documentation across multiple applications or subsystems.
• Plans full lifecycle projects across platforms and ensures on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Advises on risk assessment, management strategies, and technical decisions.
• Mentors junior team members and provides solutions for ongoing development efforts.
• Supports cloud deployments and DevOps practices including CI/CD and source control management.
