Lyric is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape technical direction and drive engineering strategy for flagship initiatives. You will lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance software, mentoring engineers and promoting best practices across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes end-to-end architecture, collaboration with product, design, and other engineers, and staying current with technology trends.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with leadership in design and development of complex systems.
• Experience with microservice architectures on modern stacks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#; .NET is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads end-to-end design and development of software solutions including back-end and integration components.
• Collaborates with product managers, designers, and engineers to define technical requirements, scope and deliverables.
• Provides technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers.
• Drives architectural decisions and ensures coding standards and quality principles.
• Develops and maintains frameworks, libraries, and reusable components.
• Identifies and addresses technical challenges, performance, and scalability.
• Mentors engineers on design, coding practices, and system architecture.
• Stays updated with emerging technologies and promotes adoption of new tools.
• Conducts code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and stability.
• Acts as a technical evangelist at industry events and communities.
