Job summary

Medical Guardian is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Philadelphia, PA. You will own architectural decisions across backend services, IoT-related systems, and customer-facing apps, while writing substantial production code in C#/.NET and PHP.

You will mentor engineers and partner with PMO, DevOps, and leadership to deliver reliable, cloud-native solutions. The role demands hands-on technical leadership, with experience migrating legacy PHP to cloud-native C#/.NET on Azure and expanding

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience owning architectural decisions for complex apps.
• Strong backend experience with C#/.NET.
• Experience designing APIs and integrating third-party systems.
• Azure knowledge including AKS and cloud-native services.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Relational DB design using SQL Server.
• Experience with event-driven or asynchronous architectures.
• Experience building agentic AI workflows in production.
• Must work from Philadelphia, PA office on Tue/Wed.

Responsibilities

• Architectural ownership for new development and platform decisions.
• Design, build, and maintain shared frameworks and abstractions.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with PMO, DevOps, and infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Ensure production safety and quality of releases.
• Contribute significant production code in PHP and C#/.NET.
• Define technical quality standards and manage debt.
