Job summary

SciTec, a Firefly Aerospace subsidiary, seeks a Principal Software Architect to lead the overall software architecture, technical vision, and strategy for a high-visibility missile defense program. You will define architecture principles, govern standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to align product roadmaps.

The role requires a BS in a technical field, 12+ years in software, 8+ years MOSA design, and strong Kubernetes experience; travel up to 15% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 12+ years of experience developing software systems.
• 8+ years of MOSA system-of-systems design experience.
• 5+ years of Kubernetes experience.
• Knowledge of modern software design patterns and parallelization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Define and own overall software architecture strategy and standards.
• Lead design of scalable, secure, and high-performing system.
• Govern architecture processes and manage technical debt and risks.
• Collaborate on product roadmaps with senior stakeholders.
• Mentor staff to implement architecture decisions.
