Job summary

General Dynamics - IT seeks a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and deploy mission-critical software for a U.S. Intelligence Community customer. You will own architecture, implement across the stack, and guide deployments in modern containerized environments.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, reliability, and maintainability, with opportunities to influence system design and tooling across distributed services. Security clearance TS/SCI with Poly is required or sponsorable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical training in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Systems-level programming in Go and/or Rust; strong Linux/kernel understanding.
• Experience designing and architecting software/systems; secure, distributed architectures.
• Containerized development with Docker/OCI; CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted or agentic coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end software systems and services with clear trade-offs for mission needs.
• Design, develop, and modify enterprise software across the full lifecycle.
• Create architecture diagrams, design docs, and patterns for long-term scalability.
• Write production-grade Go and Rust, plus automation and tests; support deployments.
• Occasionally contribute to frontend with TypeScript/React when required.
• Apply AI-assisted tools while maintaining code quality and human review.
