Job summary

Broadcom is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and lead the development of scalable distributed services for the VCF vCenter ecosystem. The role is 100% on-site in Palo Alto, CA, with a base salary range of $141,300–$226,000 per year and eligibility for discretionary equity grants and bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of software development experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in distributed systems.
• Strong experience with distributed systems concepts, databases, fault tolerance and consistency.
• Proficiency in Java and C++; Python or GoLang a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical vision and strategy for critical VCF vCenter services.
• Architect and develop scalable, reliable distributed services powering infrastructure.
• Lead hands-on implementation and uphold code quality and engineering excellence.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and act as a key troubleshooter for critical systems.
• Collaborate with product management, QA and other teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security across system design and implementation.
