Broadcom is seeking an R&D Software Engineer in Palo Alto, CA, to develop core CPU and memory virtualization technology for VMware Cloud Foundation products. The successful candidate will work with advanced CPU features and contribute to impactful engineering projects.

Ideal candidates will have significant experience in C and assembly programming, strong expertise in x86_64 architecture, and a relevant degree with extensive experience. Broadcom offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 – $192,000 along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience for Bachelor's, 6+ for Master's, or 3+ for PhD.
• Experience working in the kernel and/or virtualization space.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Understand processor architecture and low-level OS kernel internals.
• Design and support new processors or enhancements to the virtual machine monitor architecture.
• Contribute to CPU instruction set updates.
