Job summary

Leidos in Reston, Virginia, seeks a Senior Software Architect to lead the development of new capabilities for a complex, high‑performance system. You will oversee a team, drive high‑level architectural decisions, and manage the full software lifecycle in an Agile environment.

The role requires 12+ years of software design experience (or 10+ with a Master’s) and an active clearance (Secret; TS/SCI preferred). Proficiency in C++, Qt/QML, CI/CD, GitLab, and distributed stacks is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems with 12+ years of experience or Master’s with 10+ years.
• Security+ certification or achieve within 90 days; active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Experience in large, integrated classified systems and leading development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of software architectures for high-performance systems.
• Oversee teams, guide architectural decisions, and drive CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with management, integration, testing, and IA teams daily.
• Balance requirements with cost, schedule, and security considerations.
