General Motors is seeking a Senior SoC Hardware Engineer to join the Semiconductor Center of Excellence. You will lead evaluation and integration of state-of-the-art SoCs for automotive ECUs and coordinate with silicon vendors from design through early validation and production.

You will mentor teams, manage complex hardware bring-up, and stay ahead of industry trends in semiconductor portfolios and automotive applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field is required.
• 7+ years of hardware design and development with system-level ownership.
• Experience with SoC subsystems and IP blocks and with silicon bring-up.
• Hands-on circuit design, analysis, and validation experience.

Responsabilités

• Conduct in-depth technical evaluations and trade-off studies on SoCs to identify optimal components for automotive applications.
• Design and manage application schematics centered around SoCs for ECU development and ensure high-performance, cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, and suppliers to define design specifications and align on system requirements.
• Develop clear component specifications to enable timely sourcing decisions and align with milestones.
• Establish and execute test plans, including board bring-up and early validation, to verify design intent.
• Stay current with industry trends and semiconductor portfolios to inform decisions.
• Provide technical mentorship to semiconductor engineering teams across architecture, selection, and reviews.
