Job summary

Bitdefender is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the SOC Automation Engineering team. You will develop and maintain automation workflows in Python for our MDR SOAR platform, while coordinating with cross-functional teams across cloud environments like AWS and GCP.

The role emphasizes security operations, incident response, and scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development, strong Python skills, and experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes), IaC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer.
• Proficiency in at least one object oriented programming language and solid knowledge of design patterns and system design.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of IaC concepts; exposure to Terraform is a plus.
• Knowledge of Git and version control practices.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Build and maintain software solutions and workflows using Python within our SOAR platform.
• Infrastructure Development: Develop, deploy and manage infrastructure components across multiple Cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor SOC automation processes and troubleshoot issues to maintain operations.
• Collaboration: Work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Security and Compliance: Collaborate with InfoSec to address vulnerabilities and ensure SOC2 compliance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with trends in automation, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
• On-Call Support: Participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
