Job summary

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC seeks a Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to support the SBA in Washington, DC. The role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust and deliver expert threat detection, incident response, and leadership within a federal IT environment.

The Senior SOC Analyst will mentor junior staff and help drive SOC process improvements, ensuring timely containment and recovery while coordinating with the Cybersecurity Operations Technical Lead.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years in cybersecurity operations; at least 3 years in senior SOC/lead role.
• Experience supporting security operations and incident response in federal government or large enterprise IT.
• Certifications: GSOC, GCIH, GCED, GCIA, CSA, CISSP, CySA+.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced monitoring and analysis of alerts and events from SBA's SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR tools.
• Lead in-depth investigations using MITRE ATT&CK to determine scope, root cause, and impact.
• Serve as senior escalation point, providing guidance and decision support.
• Coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery per incident response policies (NIST SP 800-61).
• Develop and tune SIEM detection rules, correlation logic, and dashboards.
• Conduct threat hunting and analyze threat intelligence to improve detection.
• Produce incident reports, AARs, and technical documentation.
