IDR, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Information Security Analyst 3 to join a security operations team.

The role focuses on monitoring, investigation and incident response in a highly regulated environment, requiring hands-on SOC experience and strong communication to close alerts end-to-end. The candidate will maintain and tune core security tooling, perform proactive threat hunting, and collaborate with internal teams on vulnerability remediation and compliance activities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of information technology experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on SOC experience investigating and resolving escalated alerts.
• Practical experience with SIEM, EDR, and IDS tools.
• Strong incident response skills: evidence gathering and timelines.
• Familiar with regulated environments and audits/compliance (NIST-aligned).

Responsibilities

• Monitor endpoint, network, identity, email, and data security activity to identify suspicious behavior and potential impact.
• Investigate and resolve security incidents from initial alert through containment, remediation, and documented closure.
• Maintain and improve SOC tooling, dashboards, and detection logic to reduce false positives and close monitoring gaps.
• Perform proactive threat hunting and incorporate threat intelligence to strengthen detection and response.
• Partner with internal technical teams to support vulnerability remediation and compliance-related security activities.
