Job summary

ISO New England seeks a Senior SOC Analyst to defend critical infrastructure powering the region's electric grid. You will monitor threats and coordinate incident response across IT/OT and engineering teams in a hybrid work setting with on-site days.

Responsibilities include developing detection rules, malware analysis, and leading high-severity incident response. Strong analytics, communication, and continuous learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar).
• Experience with EDR/XDR solutions (CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, or similar).
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate independently with minimal supervision to detect, analyze, and respond to complex security threats.
• Lead response efforts for high severity incidents across IT, OT, and engineering teams.
• Apply threat modeling to anticipate adversary paths and improve detection coverage.
• Perform advanced threat detection and analysis using SIEM, EDR/XDR, network monitoring, and forensic tools.
• Conduct malware analysis, digital forensics, and root cause investigations.
• Develop, tune, and maintain detection rules, correlation logic, and automated response playbooks.
• Coordinate tabletop exercises, purple team activities, and grid-focused security assessments.
• Mentor and train junior SOC analysts and support project implementations.
