Job summary

ProgenyHealth, LLC is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain a Snowflake-based Claims Data Warehouse fed by Azure data services. The role requires deep Snowflake expertise, strong Azure skills, and extensive experience with professional, institutional, and pharmacy claims data.

You will implement medallion data architecture, optimize performance and cost, and ensure HIPAA-compliant data handling while building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and governance across source

Qualifications

• Weeks or months of experience are not listed; candidates should have extensive Snowflake and Azure data experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including streams, tasks, and time travel.
• Extensive experience with medical claims data (professional, institutional, pharmacy) and related code sets.
• Strong skills in SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning for large claims datasets.
• Experience in ETL/ELT design and ingestion pipelines using Azure services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize the Claims Data Warehouse in Snowflake.
• Ingest data continuously using Snowpipe and COPY INTO into Snowflake.
• Implement CDC, schema drift handling, and error-recovery patterns for reliability.
• Apply medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) for curated analytics-ready data.
• Tune performance and cost via warehouses sizing, clustering, and materialized views.
• Enforce security and governance for PHI and HIPAA compliance.
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Maintain and migrate SSIS packages to modern Snowflake/ADF patterns.
• Collaborate across claims, actuarial, finance, and analytics teams.
