Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to provide hands-on technical support in a high‑precision electronics manufacturing environment based in San Diego, CA.

The role focuses on testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and process support for detailed electronic assemblies and circuit boards, with opportunities to contribute to DOE investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with circuit boards, PCBAs, SMT processes.
• Hands-on cleanroom experience and microscope use.
• Reading blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Lean, and Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with SAP, Excel, Outlook for production data.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical assistance across manufacturing operations.
• Assist with process implementation and continuous improvement projects.
• Build prototype and engineering assemblies, including circuit boards.
• Perform testing, inspection, troubleshooting on boards and assemblies.
• Update and maintain work instructions and documentation.
• Support DOE and root cause investigations to resolve issues.
• Perform equipment setup, maintenance, and calibration.
• Train operators and production staff on procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engineering projects.
