Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior SMT Manufacturing Engineer to lead all manufacturing engineering activities for high-reliability CCAs used in satellite telemetry and command equipment. The role requires deep experience with SMT processes, from stencil printing to reflow, with hands-on programming and optimization responsibilities.

Collaborate with vendors and Facilities to ensure preventive maintenance and upgrades of SMT equipment; facilitate NPI transfer and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with 6+ years of related experience or 4+ years with graduate degree; alternate 10+ years experience if no degree.
• 5+ years SMT process experience.
• Lean Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and transfer of new products from Engineering to Production.
• Perform DFM assessments for PCBs/CCAs.
• Establish processes, validate equipment, and qualify materials for NPI.
• Create work instructions, routings, and labor/cycle time standards.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
