Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services seeks an SMT Maintenance Engineer to join a client in Milpitas. This full-time, direct-hire role focuses on maintaining and improving SMT, wave soldering, and conformal coating equipment to ensure high uptime.

You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues, maintain records in CMMS, and support continuous improvement projects with operators and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related technical discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• 7+ years of maintenance engineering experience within the electronics manufacturing industry.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting SMT, Wave Soldering, and Conformal Coating equipment.
• Proven experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automation-related equipment issues.
• Experience working with CMMS systems for maintenance planning and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
• Respond rapidly to equipment failures and minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history documents.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Provide technical support for SMT, Wave Soldering, and Conformal Coating equipment.
• Plan maintenance using CMMS and monitor uptime and OEE.
• Manage spare parts inventory to support production needs.
