Job summary

THOM Thomas Hospitals is seeking a Sleep Lab Technician to perform diagnostic sleep studies for evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Qualifications

• 1–2 years sleep lab experience requested
• Hospital patient care experience preferred
• RPSGT or AB'SM sleep tech credentials required or equivalent licensure
• Must obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Completes patient sleep testing procedures in Sleep Center and hospital ensuring high quality, efficient studies.
• Documents data in Tech Notes, equipment logs, and patient charts.
• Performs sleep studies per Sleep Evaluation Center policies, bedside and in critical care areas.
• Prepares initial data for physician sleep reports per department guidelines.
• Uses AIDET communication steps and informs patient/family about the study.
• Observes and reports patient concerns, symptoms, and reactions promptly.
• Maintains equipment, rooms, and work areas; supports CEU requirements and departmental education.
• Instructs and trains trainees, house-staff, and medical staff.
• Scores sleep studies according to AASM guidelines.
