Job summary

Garmin International seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will ensure production integrity, oversee releases, monitor systems, and drive automation to improve stability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Software/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Linux/Windows server installations and scripting.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and Subversion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee basic to complex releases into production.
  • Oversee real-time monitoring to ensure system stability.
  • Drive process improvements for standardization and repeatability.
  • Create and improve release processes and environment integrity.
  • Analyze performance and problem reports to aid troubleshooting.
  • Build tools to automate change and reporting across environments.
  • Mentor others in complex problem resolution and debugging.
  • Provide training on release processes for development teams.
  • Correlate production issues to recent releases and investigate recurrence.
  • Communicate release information to stakeholders and balance quality and complexity.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support local/remote locations.
