Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to scale compute, storage, and networking for manufacturing systems across Starship, Starlink, Starshield, and Terafab. You will focus on reliability, proactive maintenance, and incident response to support production uptime.

The role requires collaboration with software and site teams, on-call participation, and the ability to travel to multiple sites. Aerospace experience is not required, but strong ownership and clear communication are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of SRE/DevOps experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of experience with Python and Python-based development frameworks.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, upgrade, operate, maintain, and scale compute, storage, and networking for manufacturing systems across Starship, Starlink, Starshield, and Terafab.
• Manage infrastructure as code and observability for platform health.
• Design for reliability, stability, and scale; remove bottlenecks with measurement and engineering.
• Practice proactive maintenance: capacity planning, lifecycle management, reducing toil.
• Partner with software engineers, manufacturing stakeholders, and site teams for operable systems.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and teammates; participate in on-call and site deployments.
