Job summary

Workday, Inc. is seeking Senior Site Reliability Engineers in the Reston, VA area to support U.S. Federal Government contracts. Roles emphasize automation, reliability, and scale, with on-site expectations in the DMV area and TS/SCI clearance considerations.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a software developer supporting Production Engineering, DevOps or equivalent roles.
3+ years of experience in using configuration management frameworks like Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes in Public/Private Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Experience in designing systems for maintenance, repair, and upgrades to reduce downtime.
Proficiency in maintaining and administering source code management (SCM) tools.
Proficient with Agile methodologies, SDLC, and CI/CD.
Experience in Linux OS and scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang.
Reliability Engineering principles to forecast lifespans and maintenance plans.
Deep understanding of Public Cloud Networking.
JFrog Artifactory administration experience an advantage.
DoD 8570/8140 compliant with at least IAT Level II, including CE credential and one specialty cert.

Responsibilities

Define, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain automation infrastructure for configuration management and service deployment.
Improve operational efficiency by automating where reasonable.
Build platforms that empower developers to interact with production in a self-service manner.
Build and maintain strong relationships with peers and partners to deliver results through collaboration.
Respond to production monitoring: triage, fix, and resolution; act on incidents to improve systems and processes.
Participate in a culture of learning through hackathons, online courses, and guilds.
In time, participate in an infrequent on-call rotation.
