Job summary

MyFitnessPal is seeking a Software Engineer III - Site Reliability to own reliability across production services and maintain security in the software delivery pipeline. You will define SLI/SLO, lead incidents, and make CI/CD pipelines faster and harder to compromise while delivering an outstanding user experience.

You will collaborate with Security & Reliability disciplines, champion best practices, and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in site reliability, platform, or infrastructure engineering with ownership of production systems.
• Strong programming skills for automation and tooling (Go, Python, TypeScript or similar).
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Proven track record leading incident response and building SLO-driven reliability practices.
• Experience with observability tooling (Datadog).
• Security in CI/CD pipelines including SAST/DAST/SCA tooling and policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve SLI/SLO and error-budget frameworks to influence prioritization.
• Lead incident response and drive postmortems to fixes.
• Build and maintain observability across metrics, logs, and traces (Datadog).
• Design and operate resilient, scalable infrastructure using Terraform.
• Manage production Kubernetes and container workloads, including capacity planning.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and safe deployment strategies (canary, progressive rollout, rollback).
• Own security controls inside the delivery pipeline (SAST/DAST/SCA in CI/CD).
• Implement and maintain policy-as-code to block unsafe infra and Kubernetes changes at admission time.
