Job summary

NV5 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager in North Carolina to lead site/civil design projects from concept through construction. You will manage budgets, schedules, and client communications while mentoring design staff and ensuring quality deliverables.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, an NC PE license, and 10+ years in site/civil design with extensive PM experience across commercial, institutional, healthcare, and educational sites.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering
• NC PE license
• 5+ years of Civil Engineering PM experience
• 10+ years of site/civil design experience
• Project experience across commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential or educational sites
• Design experience in site development including layout, grading, stormwater, utilities and road improvements
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, WaterCAD, Excel and stormwater modeling software
• Sustainability certification/experience (LEED, Green Globes) is a plus
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license before employment

Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and production on PM projects
• Assist other PMs by managing project engineering and production tasks
• Supervise and assist staff in design and plan production
• Perform engineering design and detailing
• Perform permitting tasks to keep projects on track
• Sign and seal calculations, specs and plans you oversee
• Perform QA/QC reviews for other PM projects
• Ensure QA/QC reviews on your projects
• Communicate with staff, managers, peer firms and clients
• Complete project tasks within deadlines and budgets
• Meet with clients for projects and business development
• Maintain good client relationships
• Maintain respectful in-house relationships
• Mentor in-house design engineers and designers
• Track project financials and manage within budget
• Assist with project invoicing
• Market NV5 services to current and potential clients
• Support business development and networking
• Participate in professional and civic organizations
