Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim seeks a Principal Engineer, Automation to design, program, troubleshoot, and lead automation across our site. You will collaborate with plant services, engineering, construction, and maintenance on capital projects to advance production equipment and building automation systems.

You will evaluate new technologies, drive site automation improvements, and lead CAPA initiatives while ensuring compliance with SOPs and industry standards to minimize downtime and support sustained

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Control Systems.
4+ years of professional experience.
Experience with low voltage controls, sensors, IO, fieldbus and networking.
PLC programming including ladder, function block and structured text.

Responsibilities

Manage capital and expense projects ensuring site automation growth.
Maintain building automation system lifecycle management and troubleshooting per SOPs.
Research and evaluate automation projects for feasibility.
Provide data and proposals to guide site investment strategy.
Lead site automation improvement initiatives and CAPA plans.
