Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Simulation Scientist to design and optimize the fulfillment network using discrete event simulations. You will lead complex modelling projects, work with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-impact simulation artifacts to guide design decisions.

The role requires deep technical expertise, mentoring others, and the ability to communicate complex results to business partners across the organization.

Qualifications

• PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experience.
• Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles to business problems.
• Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.

Responsibilities

• Influence scientific strategy across multiple teams and support go/no-go decisions.
• Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of DES data science solutions using tools like AnyLogic, FlexSim, or Demo 3D.
• Lead strategic modeling and simulation research projects to drive process design decisions.
