Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Simulation Scientist to design and optimize the fulfillment network via discrete event simulations.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop AI-powered simulation tools, and mentor others while delivering high-impact modeling solutions with various DES software packages and coding algorithms. The role involves interfacing with multiple stakeholders, driving strategic modelling projects, and producing technical documents and white papers to influence process design

Qualifications

PhD or Master’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative field research experience.
5+ years investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products experience.
Experience communicating qualitative research methods and findings to non-qualitative researchers.
Experience converting research studies into tangible real-world changes.
Experience with discrete and continuous optimization methodologies and algorithms.
Lead and mentor others in simulation data science and best practices.

Responsibilities

Influence the scientific strategy across multiple teams and support go/no-go decisions.
Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of DES-based simulations for complex operational processes.
Drive problem solving and balance cross‑organization trade-offs.
Document approaches, outcomes, and recommendations with clear artifacts.
Mentor and educate the broader simulation data science community.
