Amgen Inc. (IR) is seeking a Senior Engineer to develop and manage finite element models of combination product devices, leveraging explicit and nonlinear FEM to enable robust design and process understanding.

The role emphasizes building trustworthy in-silico assets, applying physics-based and data-driven approaches, and guiding decision making across multi-functional teams. You will mentor other simulation experts, communicate model scope clearly, and support lifecycle management from concept

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with engineering experience in FEM modeling and simulation.
• Experience with explicit FEM modelling and non-linear structural modelling.
• Ability to develop in-silico models addressing device design, manufacturing, and lifecycle considerations.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices and design controls.

Responsibilities

• Implement explicit and implicit FEM structural models for drug delivery devices.
• Ensure modelling approach accurately represents the physical system.
• Apply engineering principles to create robust in-silico models.
• Continuously improve models and manage model lifecycle and backlog.
• Communicate modelling scope and limitations to stakeholders.
• Mentor other simulation experts in best practices.
