Job summary

Lab37 Robotics seeks a senior industrial engineer who specializes in discrete‑event simulation to optimize robotic food‑production systems in Pittsburgh. You will model end‑to‑end production flows, identify bottlenecks, and guide capital and operational decisions using robust DE models built with modern tools.

You will own the technical direction for industrial‑engineering simulation, set modeling standards, validate with operating data, and turn results into decision‑ready recommendations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research required.
• 3+ years in industrial engineering, operations research, manufacturing systems, or discrete‑event simulation.
• Hands‑on DE simulation experience with AnyLogic, Simio, SimPy, Arena, or custom engines.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; able to build and analyze simulation models.

Responsibilities

• Build discrete‑event simulation models of the Bowl Builder and kitchen systems.
• Map production processes and characterize stochastic inputs from operations data.
• Extend models end‑to‑end across multi‑station kitchen flow and buffers.
• Evaluate platforms and establish modeling standards across teams.
• Validate models against telemetry and use results to guide decisions.
