Job summary

Lumilens in San Jose is seeking a Senior Silicon Photonics Test Engineer to drive device and PIC characterization at chip and wafer levels. You will set up high-speed measurements and develop test automation.

You will troubleshoot measurement issues, analyze data, and support the transition from R&D to early production test flows while collaborating with design and process teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in EE, Physics, or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in photonics device testing or optical lab work is typical.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed measurement equipment such as VNA, oscilloscope, and BERT.

Responsibilities

• Execute device and PIC characterization (EO, OE, OO) at chip and wafer level.
• Set up and run high-speed measurements (bandwidth, BER, eye diagrams).
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts using LabVIEW and/or Python.
• Support wafer probing, optical alignment, and test setup bring-up.
• Troubleshoot and debug test setups and measurement issues.
• Analyze data and provide feedback to design and process teams.
• Support die sorting and yield data collection.
• Assist in transition from R&D to early production test flows.
