Job summary

Broadcom is seeking a Senior Silicon Photonics PIC Design Engineer to lead design, simulation, layout, and system-level testing of advanced silicon photonics components. You will work with design and layout engineers and fab teams to optimize device designs, monitor processes, and define validation plans.

The role requires mastery of photonic design tools (Ansys/Lumerical, Cadence Virtuoso), experience with high-speed optical devices, and strong scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience or PhD with 7+ years in relevant field.
• Strong photonic design and simulation tool experience required.
• Experience with RF/SI and high-speed optical components a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, simulation, layout and system-level testing of PICs.
• Utilize Ansys/Lumerical and Cadence to validate photonic designs.
• Collaborate with design/layout engineers on high-performance circuits.
• Define and optimize device design with fab/Process teams.
• Develop test and qualification plans with validation teams.
