Job summary

Kilby Labs in Dallas or Lehi seeks a Senior Silicon Photonics Process Engineer to lead heterogeneous integration of non-Si modulator materials into silicon photonics. You will drive transfer, bonding, and post-bond processing across labs and fab operations.

Responsibilities cover process development, volume scaling, and collaboration with design, test, and packaging teams to deliver high-yield, cost-effective photonics solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or Materials Science.
• 3+ years in HI or related silicon photonics processing in high-volume fab environments.
• Experience with non-Si materials (e.g., LiNbO3, LiTaO3, BaTiO3, InP) in photonics.
• Strong SPC, DOE, and material characterization skills with Cpk optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, execution, and optimization of volume D2W bonding for non-Si chiplets in silicon photonics.
• Own non-Si integration process module handling dicing, grinding, bonding, and waveguide etching.
• Scale HI processes from R&D to high-volume manufacturing with cross-functional teams.
• Establish process controls, root-cause analysis, and yield enhancements for reliability.
• Collaborate with design, fab, and packaging teams to meet device performance and cost goals.
