Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Santa Clara, CA, seeks an experienced Senior Signal Integrity Engineer to design, simulate, characterize, and apply high-speed connectors and interconnects. Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• 7+ years of industry experience with an understanding of electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity.
• Experience in component design and application of high-speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus.
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment.
• Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS.
• Hands‑on experience with frequency‑domain and time‑domain components and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods.
• Excellent communication, customer‑facing, problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed connectors and cable-based interconnects.
• Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction.
• Contribute to an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines.
• Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next‑generation high-speed I/O interconnect products.
• Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high-speed data transmission requirements.
• Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break‑in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise.
• Identify and resolve signal Integrity issues in PCB layout.
• Design, build, and measure circuit boards for the measurement and verification of products.
• Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design.
• Serve as the primary SI technical point of contact for strategic customers.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide support by addressing customer requests and ensuring timely resolution of SI‑related issues.
