Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer to design, simulate, and characterize high-speed interconnects for telecom and data applications.

The role requires a BS in EE with 7+ years of SI experience; MS/PhD preferred. You will lead SI measurements, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and support product introductions for strategic customers.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of industry experience in signal integrity.
• Experience with high-speed connectors in communications equipment is a plus.
• Experience with SI measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, and error detectors.
• Proficiency with SI tools such as HFSS, Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS.
• Strong communication and customer-facing problem-solving skills.

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high-speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed connectors and cable-based interconnects
• Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction
• Contribute to an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines
• Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next-generation high-speed I/O interconnect products
• Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high-speed data transmission requirements
• Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise
• Identify and resolve signal Integrity issues in PCB layout
• Design, build, and measure circuit boards for the measurement and verification of products
• Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design
• Serve as the primary SI technical point of contact for strategic customers.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide support by addressing customer requests and ensuring timely resolution of SI-related issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred
• 7+ years of industry experience with an understanding of electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity
• Experience in component design and application of high-speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment
• Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS
• Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain components and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods
• Excellent communication, customer-facing, problem solving skills.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $225,000.
