Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), part of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer to join the team in Valley Green, PA, with remote work options. You will collaborate across disciplines to develop next-generation high-speed backplane interconnects and provide expert SI analysis for new products.

You will perform design, simulation, and characterization of high-speed electrical connectors, support customers, and guide layout decisions to resolve signal integrity

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
• Hands-on frequency- and time-domain characterization.
• Experience with SI measurements using TDR and VNA.
• Understanding of electromagnetic principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design of high-speed backplane interconnects.
• Design, simulate, and characterize high-speed connectors and cable interconnects.
• Help customers with signal integrity for data transmission requirements.
• Assist Sales Engineers with product break-in strategies at accounts.

We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer to join our team located in Valley Green, PA. The SI Engineer would be part of an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines who are responsible for both component development as well as customer support on new product introduction.

Position: Senior Signal Integrity Engineer

Location: Valley Green, PA / Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborating on a multi-disciplinary team in the development of next generation high speed backplane interconnect products
• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed electrical connectors and cable-based interconnect
• Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high-speed data transmission requirements
• Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise
• Identify and resolve signal Integrity issues in PCB layout, and directing layout
• Application of Circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics
• Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment
• Understanding of electro-magnetic principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics
• 2+ years of industry experience
• Experience in component design and application of high-speed interconnects into communications systems
• Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as ANSYS HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave Studio, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS
