Job summary

American StaffCorp is seeking a Class A Side Frame Fitter Welder in Oklahoma to join our manufacturing team. The role requires reading complex blueprints, precise layout, and fitting structural components to tight tolerances for heavy side frames and industrial assemblies.

The position involves multi-position welding (FCAW, GMAW, GTAW) on carbon steel, stainless steel, or specialty alloys, while adhering to AWS/ASME codes and inspecting welds with precision tools.

Qualifications

• Experience reading complex blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proven ability to fit and tack-weld structural components.
• Capable of passing AWS/ASME weld tests in multiple positions.
• Physically able to lift heavy metal components and work with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Layout and fitting: read blueprints to position, align, and fit components within tolerances.
• Assembly and tacking: clamp, fixture, bolt, and tack-weld parts in place before final welding.
• Welding operations: perform multi-position welding (FCAW, GMAW, GTAW) on carbon and stainless steels.
• Quality and code compliance: follow AWS/ASME codes and verify weld dimensions with measuring tools.
• Equipment maintenance: operate and maintain fabrication tools and power supplies in safe order.
