Job summary

AOA seeks a Senior Design Engineer, Show Production in Burbank to lead complex illusion design, engineering, fabrication, and installation across multiple shows. You will own the technical direction, mentor colleagues, and coordinate with cross‑discipline teams to deliver high‑profile experiences.

The role requires hands‑on fabrication, strong CAD skills, and a track record delivering end‑to‑end show elements while staying on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Senior design and engineering mastery demonstrated across a substantial body of work.
• Background fusing creative and technical training (design education with engineering coursework).
• Advanced CAD fluency in Fusion; strong proficiency in Illustrator.
• Hands-on fabricator with experience wiring and programming show elements.
• Experience with traditional and rapid manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer show elements from concept to installation and turnover.
• Own budget and schedule; communicate risks and trade-offs proactively.
• Create facility interface data for power, structure, controls, and other requirements.
• Coordinate with show set, ride, media, and controls engineering; present work to clients.
• Produce fabrication-ready drawings and models in Fusion for fabricators to build from.
• Program, tune, and cue control systems on-site; ensure synchronization with show.
