Job summary

McCluskey Automotive is seeking a Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced, high-volume Chevrolet-Buick-GMC dealership in Cincinnati, OH. You will lead the service department, coach technicians, and ensure quality repairs compliant with GM standards.

The role emphasizes driving productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction, with strong emphasis on mentorship and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years in a high-volume automotive repair shop.
Proven leadership as a Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, or similar role.
Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with a servant leadership style.
Monday-Friday and Saturday availability.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily shop workflow and optimize operations.
Assign repair orders based on technician skill level and workload.
Monitor cycle time, productivity, and efficiency to meet dealership targets.
Ensure proper dispatching and prioritization of work, including warranty and internal repairs.
Provide advanced diagnostic and repair support to technicians.
Serve as the escalation point for complex vehicle issues.
Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time and in compliance with GM standards.
Stay current on Chevrolet‑Buick‑GMC and GM technical bulletins, recalls, and service updates.
Perform or oversee quality inspections before vehicle delivery.
Ensure warranty repairs meet GM documentation and audit requirements.
Reduce comebacks and improve overall repair quality.
Consistently exceed GM Net Promoter Score (NPS) benchmarks.
Mentor, coach, and train technicians to improve skill levels and certifications.
Support GM training initiatives and ASE advancement.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
Enforce dealership safety policies and OSHA standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
Ensure proper tool usage and equipment maintenance.
Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Management.
Assist with estimating, technician productivity tracking, and problem resolution.
Support customer satisfaction efforts when technical explanations are required.
