Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a Construction Coordinator/Lead for AOR who will supervise all phases of the construction process. You will define project scope, align goals with build strategy, and ensure work meets quality and safety standards on schedule.

The role requires coordinating with trades management, resolving design and material issues, and managing cost performance, overtime, and risk. You will conduct inspections and drive safety mitigations across complex naval construction

Qualifications

• 2 years Foreman experience OR Apprentice Graduate OR Military E-6 and above OR BS in Engineering Or Construction/Project Management

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR, defining scope, goals and deliverables.
• Manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met and work is performed on schedule.
• Identify and expedite resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, or other problems that could risk critical path work.
• Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance, overtime needs and cost drivers.
• Assess growth work and contract funded changes to ensure funding and integration within schedule.
• Perform inspections (structural, tank/void, yard final, concealment materials release, turnover inspections).
• Assess safety risks within AOR and develop mitigation plans.
