Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division seeks a Construction Supervisor to coordinate and supervise all aspects of the AOR build process, ensuring scope, schedule, cost and safety standards are met. You will define goals, manage stakeholders, and resolve design, material, or manpower issues impacting the critical path.

Ideal candidates include 2 years foreman experience or apprentice graduate, or military E-6+, with 4 years exempt or 6 years non-exempt related experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years Foreman experience OR Apprentice Graduate OR Military E-6 and above OR BS in Engineering Or Construction/Project Management
• 4 years exempt related experience (Planning, Production Control, Engineering, Construction/Project, Merchant Marine)
• 6 years non-exempt professional experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR including defining scope, goals and deliverables
• Manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met and work is on schedule
• Identify and expedite resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower or other problems that could risk critical path work
• Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance within AOR and determine overtime requirements
• Assess growth work and contract changes for funding authorization and schedule integration
• Perform inspections and document discrepancies for corrections; assess safety risks and develop mitigations
