Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to handle inbound/outbound materials, use the MRP system, and ensure accurate inventory transactions. You will work to support timely delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include processing shipping paperwork, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipments. Candidates should have 5+ years in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing setting and be proficient with ERP systems like D365, SAP,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as D365, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong computer proficiency and transactional accuracy.
  • Experience with freight coordination, receiving documentation, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Attention to detail, process discipline, and cross-functional communication.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal safety and safety of team members.

  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Prepare shipping documents and labels in the MRP system.
  • Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
  • Package and label products for shipment per specifications.
  • Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments.
  • Process shipping transactions in the MRP system with guidance.
  • Maintain organized shipping records.
  • Follow all shipping safety procedures.
  • Resolve last-minute load changes and ensure correct line items in the system.
  • Communicate with drivers, supervisors, and team members to facilitate operations.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials and verify quantities and condition.
  • Record and track incoming materials accurately.

Position

Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Directly reports to

MPI Calera is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This role will assist with accurately and efficiently handling all incoming and outgoing materials, focusing on utilizing our MRP, D365. This position ensures accurate inventory transactions, process incoming and outgoing orders, and supports timely delivery of goods while adhering to company safety and quality standards.

Scope of Responsibilities
  • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wearappropriate PPE, including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
  • Assist in preparingshippingdocuments, including packing slipsandshippinglabels, using the MRP system.
  • Learn to coordinate with carriers for pickupsanddeliveries.
  • Help packageandlabel products for shipment according to company specifications.
  • Assist in verifying the accuracy of outgoing shipments.
  • Learn to processshippingtransactions in the MRP system with guidance.
  • Help maintain organizedshippingrecords.
  • Follow allshippingsafety procedures.
  • Solve problems and adjust forms and documents as needed due to last-minute load changes. Attention to detail is required, especially during data entry, to ensure line items are correctly placed in the software system. Use the system to locate, print, sort, and distribute picking lists to product assemblers.
  • Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
  • Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, damaged shipments, and inventory variances.
  • Prepare, create, and distribute paperwork related to shipping products, including picking lists, packing slips, and Bills of Lading.
  • Communicate via radio with truck drivers, supervisors, and team members throughout the day to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming materials and verifying quantities and condition.
  • Learn to processreceivingtransactions in the MRP system with guidance.
  • Assist in accurately recordingandtracking incoming materials.
  • Report any damaged or incorrect shipments to supervisors.
  • Help maintain a cleanandorganizedreceivingarea.
  • Assist in routing received materials to appropriate locations.
Position Requirements
  • Standing, walking, stooping, balancing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting are some of the physical requirements.
  • Must be able to meet and adhere to physical requirements as well as wearing the appropriate PPE (steel toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection and mask).
  • Will be required to work in the following conditions: heat, cold, noise, and vibration.
  • Must be able to work in dust and fumes.
  • Must have the ability to operate forklift or overhead crane.
  • Possible overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
