Job summary

M.C. Dean Maritime Division seeks skilled mechanical and structural assemblers and strong leaders to support C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines. Work is conducted from our Chesapeake, VA and San Diego, CA offices with travel to US shipyards as needed.

Requirements include 5+ years of hands-on assembly/repair experience, a Secret clearance, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Safety training and the capacity to work at height are also essential.

Qualifications

  • Formal two-year contractor apprenticeship with at least six months of classroom training addressing structural design and fabrication of metal objects.
  • Completion of four years of U.S. military service with one of these technical ratings: Mechanist Mate, Structural Mechanic, Machinery Repair, or Steel Worker.
  • An associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical or Structural Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack and chassis assembly and layouts.
  • Lead and demonstrate superior workmanship in mission-critical environments.
  • Organize and schedule jobs to ensure on-time completion and efficient use of resources.
