Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group in Miami is seeking a Ship Manager to represent vessel interests and Shoreside Marine Operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations.

You will manage day-to-day operations, support repairs, oversee dry-dock planning and budgets, coordinate with classification authorities, and lead shipboard personnel development.

The role requires broad maritime engineering knowledge, strong supervisory skills, and travel willingness to support the fleet.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; international equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as Naval Architect or Marine/Mechanical Engineer with shipping.
  • Ability to manage financial aspects and cost efficiencies.
  • Diploma for Chief Engineer with experience on Diesel Engines and Steam Plant.
  • Experience on vessels with PODs/Azipods and familiarity with maritime systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of assigned vessels within Marine Operations.
  • Support onboard repairs and oversee dry-dock planning and budgets with Superintendents.
  • Coordinate with Marine Technical to ensure compliance and equipment installation.
  • Monitor compliance with Class and Government requirements and clear conditions.
  • Investigate incidents and ensure proper reporting and settlement of damages.
  • Participate in succession planning and training for shipboard personnel.
  • Collaborate with Accommodation Maintenance and New Building on projects.
  • Prepare annual budgets with Management Team and Financial department.
  • Evaluate monthly/quarterly results and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Lead dry-dock planning and budget execution for ships.
