Job summary

Senesco Marine, LLC in North Kingstown, RI seeks a Shipyard Design Manager to lead a team of engineers and drafters from concept to delivery. You will oversee CAD modeling, design drawings, and system integrations while ensuring compliance with ABS, DNV, SOLAS, and client specifications.

The role focuses on design management, production support, and project documentation, coordinating with production and project managers to resolve conflicts and keep deliverables on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
• 5–10+ years in ship design/shipyard engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Naval Architecture, Structures, Propulsion & Auxiliaries, Electrical, and Mission Systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and ShipConstructor; MS Office and EDMS.
• Excellent organizational, detail orientation, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review all functional & detailed structural, outfitting, and production drawings for new builds or repairs.
• Own and guide the overall technical solution for assigned projects.
• Identify and report technical risks to the Engineering Director.
• Coordinate with project managers and production teams to resolve design conflicts during construction.
• Manage project documentation, including design reviews, 3D models, and technical specifications.
• Facilitate design reviews, client presentations, and progress updates.
